Y’all, I saw a really cool project on Modrinth’s Bluesky the other day. It’s a mod called “Cubium” that gives you a browser window in-game. Well, as someone who has a mod that’s primary purpose is to open a browser, this is huge!
I reached out to the dev and asked if they’d implement chat links opening in Cubium by default so it would work with TMYK. Henri was super responsive and got it working. We think these mods are even better together and we think you’ll agree!
As of an hour or so ago, my plugins/mods have been downloaded over 10,000 times! 🎉
Being the start of January, you see lots of people talking about resolutions. I think they’re kind of bunk, to be honest. You know what I don’t want to do in the depths of winter during the laziest two weeks of the year? Initiate self-development. It’s much easier to start somewhere in the middle of the year so that you can use the new year as more of a checkpoint rather than a starting line. I’ve been going on a September-August schedule and it really reduces the pressure and also feels like I have more time to do stuff even though it’s literally the same amount of time.
I bring this up because this year I wrote in my 24-25 goals document: “10,000 Minecraft downloads” and it only took 4 months! I believe I was sitting around 5,000 at the time; and I’ve been at this since July 2022, so I thought 10k was somewhat ambitious. I’m bad at math, but I think that’s like an 800% increase in download rate! (If it took 2 years to go 0-5000 and 4 months to go 5000-10000? That seems right. Idk I went to saxophone school.)

I’ve been deep in the mines the last few weeks crafting up a first-of-its-kind mod and I’m super excited to share it in a few months. 🔊🤫
Additionally, I have a little bit of code cleanup to do, but the plugin I made for the 90 Days to Live server should see a public release in the coming weeks. That series was a blast and created a whole new Minecraft experience that I hope other people will enjoy as much as we did.
